We have produced screening copies of the film on DVD and we have started to send them out to distribution agents and companies that have voiced interest in our feature film. Any agent or company that is interested discussing distribution with us and viewing the screener, please contact us at info@serotoninrising.com . April 11th, 2010 Final Edit Near Completion Tony, Tom and Darren have reviewed the latest verstion of the movie and have made their final notes. Next week we will return to the edit room to perform the final tweaks on the film and get it ready for release. The film is truly coming together and we are all very excited about the final product. February 24th, 2010 Marketing / Distribution Meeting in L.A. Tony and Darren flew back out to L.A. to meet with our executive producers and other advisors to coordinate the development of our marketing plan for distribution. It was a very productive meeting and once we finish the final edit in March we will be in talks with sales agenst and distributors regarding the packaging of the movie. All looks well and we are moving along swiftly. January 22nd, 2010 Post-Production in Boulder Tony and Darren joined Tom Parkin (Director of Photography) to continue to work on the edit in Boulder, Colorado. The final edit of the film is making great strides with Tom's exceptional talents added to the editing team. Due to conflicting schedules, we have scheduled time in March to finalize the post-production with Tom and hopefully have a final edit ready in April. November 28th, 2009 Wrap Party in Colorado We held the "Serotonin Rising" Production Wrap Party on November 28th, 2009 at the beautiful Horizon's Clubhouse & Theater in Superior, Colorado. The celebration was a huge success with over 60 cast, crew and their family and friends joining us for the festivities. Entertainment included incredible musical performances by Russell Perri and Roxy King. They shared some of their own original music and even a few standards. Later in the evening Spencer joined in on the guitar, Tony played some blues on his harmonica and I (Darren) filled in a bit on the drums. Half way through the party we moved into the theater to view a rough cut of the film. In the end, the party was a huge success. Thanks to everyone who helped to throw it all together. November 11th, 2009 Darren Joins Tony for Post-Production in L.A. I flew out to L.A. on November 3rd for a week of post-production on the film with Tony. Tony had already prepared an initial trailer and he had edited the opening to the movie before I arrived. We spent several hours working on the trailer and a variety of editing and other post-production decisions. Megan Strawn joined us several times and helped us with her input. The three of us even snuck in a day at Disneyland :). We finialized the new trailer on November 9th and posted it online. I returned to Colorado on the 11th and left Tony to continue editing the rest of the film while I work on a variety of administrative tasks associated with the film. Tony will be joining me out in Colorado over Thanksgiving week when we will work more on post-production. Our goal is to have the final edit completed by the end of the year. Everything is going very well and the film looks amazing. We can't wait for it to be available to the public. October 27th, 2009 Additional Interviews in San Diego Tony and Megan Strawn joined our executive producers, Tamara LaFarga and Ger Chin-Rothbard in San Diego to film some new interviews to add to the movie. Interviews included... - Dean William Headley, USD School of Peace and Justice - Msgr. Dan Dillabough, USD Vice President, Office of Mission and Ministry - Bettie Youngs, Ph.D., Ed.D. - Joanie Wafer, National Founder & CEO, Kids Korps - Kids Korps Volunteers The interviews went very well and we now have new insight from additional experts to add to the film. Pictures and biographies of our new interviewees will be added to the website soon. October 23rd, 2009 Post-Production Begins in L.A. Now that principle photography has completed, it is time to start post-production. Tony is working with his team in L.A. on editing while I'm finishing with administrative and marketing tasks here in Colorado. We still have a few more interviews that Tony and Megan will be picking up in California but other than that, all of the filming is complete. Thanks again to our awesome team. It has been a blessing to work with such wonderful people. I can't wait to work with all of you again. October 18th, 2009 Principle Phtography Wraps in Boulder, Colorado For nine long days of production from October 10th through October 18th we filmed the reporters' storyline (half of our movie) in and around Boulder and Estes Park, Colorado. The other half of the movie are the series of interviews that we filmed over the past two years. The filming was a great success thanks to an amazing cast and crew. I know a lot of filmmakers may say that, but here I cannot emphasize it enough. Our team was incredible and worked around the clock for several weeks to make this shoot a success. Please take a look at our cast and crew pages to see who these amazing people are. October 10th, 2009 1st Day of Filming in Boulder, Colorado Today we finally started production on the reporters' storyline (half of our movie) in Colorado. We have a very hectic eight days of shooting scheduled, with a ninth day open for pick-ups if needed. Our team is together and has been working diligently in preparation for the following extended week. September 18th, 2009 Open Auditions held in Colorado We held open auditions at the Omni Interlocken Hotel in Broomfield, Colorado on September 17th and 18th for both cast and crew. We were looking to cast some secondary characters and find crew for our shoot scheduled in October in Boulder. The turn-out was excellent and we found some very talented people to join the SR team. June 15th, 2009 The Hiatus Is Over for "Serotonin Rising" Tony (Director and Co-Producer) contacted me about returning to production for "Serotonin Rising" this summer / fall. We completed the trailer in 2008 which has received a lot of positive attention. We also have most of the interviews already in the can, although we are still seeking a few more. During the hiatus Tony completed his award winning documentary School of Thought and taught Electronic Journalism at CU Boulder. I worked on a couple of screenwriting contracts and taught at CU Denver and the Colorado Film School. All of that time, we both knew that we had to finish this film and couldn't wait to get started on it again. Thus, it is now time to start working. Please check back here later for updates as we put together our team and schedule production in Colorado this fall. |
